大学三年级学生阮惠与男友罗刚在海洋馆有个浪漫的约会。年轻、英俊的海洋馆驯兽员杜伟（陆毅饰）成了这次约会的见证人，他将监督罗刚每天从高台上跳下直到完成365跳。在这次约会就要完成的前一天，罗刚在一次意外中为了救护海豚而丧生。满怀希望的阮惠如约而至，可从高台上跳下的竟是杜伟的女友石雨（梅婷饰），大家为了不让阮惠伤心而隐瞒真相，关心她，照顾她。这其中最为热心的就是石雨。得知真相后，阮惠把无尽的思念寄托在海豚身上，并与一只同样失去爱人的海豚成了朋友。石雨有着优越的家庭条件，然而为了爱情她不顾一切来到海洋馆，但她的热情主动却使杜伟深感压力，特别是杜伟为了照顾生病的海狮常常耽误和石雨的约会，渐渐的，杜伟对阮惠的同情发生错位，与如胶似漆的女友的关系也出现裂痕，而此时的阮惠也在不知不觉中爱上了杜伟。石雨的咄咄逼人与阮惠的温柔善良形成鲜明的对比，使杜伟左右为难。一段亲情、友情、爱情以及人与动物之间那份特殊的感情在这个夏天，在美丽的海洋馆开始了……
