CMT公布了八集有限剧集《太阳唱片》（Sun Records）的正式预告片。该剧描述上世纪五十年代孟菲斯「音乐」与「种族」相碰撞，最终诞生了流行音乐史上第一批巨星。这些年轻艺人一夜成名之后，不得不面对剧烈的政治动荡和社会变化。Leslie Grief担任执行制片人，获得奥斯卡奖提名的Roland Joffé执导。故事起始于1956年12月，在孟菲斯太阳唱片的录音棚里，Elvis Presley、Carl Perkins、Jerry Lee Lewis和Johnny Cash第一次会面。在这次会议上，他们随意演唱并录制了一批福音歌曲和山区乡村摇滚歌曲。这些内容中的一部分（包括17首歌）在1981年第一次公诸于众。又过了很多年，其他内容也被找到，一张新的专辑正式发布。2006年，一部音乐剧将他们的这次会议搬上了舞台。2010年，这部音乐剧首次在百老汇演出，获得三项托尼奖提名。本剧就是这部音乐剧的改编版——作为这次会议六十周年纪念的一项内容。四人当年在太阳唱片公司老板Sam Phillips的安排下会面时，恰逢民权运动最鼎盛的时期。时局改变了他们对音乐的看法，他们开始尝试混合不同流派和类型的音乐。

解放军的炮声震动了龙隐镇，王保长解救了丁当夫妇，令潘驼背护送丁当夫妻到已经解放了的溜溜乡去避难，自己准备和平起义。三嫂子要按照诺言与王保长成亲，王保长不肯，说自己未来安危难以预料，不愿牵连三嫂子。三嫂子请唐鸡屎帮他打锣宣告本月初八要与其成亲，王保长赶去夺下锣，怀着悲伤敲锣又称本月初八并未与三嫂子成亲，乡亲们不知谁是谁非，三嫂子听了悄然落泪。潘驼背眼见溜溜乡的袁保长被枪毙，认为王保长也只有这下个场，于是想取而代之，极力讨好解放军连长芋子娃儿，取得他的信任，带着解放军进驻龙隐镇。王保长带领团丁迎接解放军，准备和平起义，潘驼背愤恨王保长还想当官，使出毒计。王保长在和平起义的仪式上打出欢迎的横标上竟成了“欢迎蒋匪军，赶走解放军”，顿时引起轩然大波，一场精心准备的和平缴枪起义仪式差点要了王保长的命，多亏姜大贵掌握政策，使他免受不白之冤。潘驼背当了乡公所所长，想与地主家庭出身的李幺妹离婚，并且勾引小鱼儿，又设连环奸计将王保长抓捕，李老栓也因为包庇罪而入狱，三嫂子为其鸣冤。
