《脱贫先锋》以国务院扶贫办和中国农业电影电视中心共同遴选的近年来在扶贫攻坚中涌现出的10个脱贫先锋人物为原型,以真人真事为基础,进行艺术创作,以影视剧的形态全面,完整地再现扶贫英雄人物数年间一路走来的鲜活历程。本剧是国务院扶贫办与农业农村部及中国农业电影电视中心共同推出的扶贫题材重点电视剧。本剧以3集为一个单元,讲述一名人物,选择2018-2019年全国脱贫攻坚奋进奖,奋斗奖,贡献奖,创新奖及模范称号的10名代表人物,涵盖专家,扶贫人员,村党支部书记,村医,村民等,具有鲜明的代表性。本剧以独到细腻的视角浓缩这些脱贫先锋英雄的人生并艺术化升华,将扶贫过程中的初心不改,攻坚克难,砥砺前行通过一个个感人至深的故事传递出来,在全国观众面前推出一个个新时代的榜样。
该剧是根据法国生物学家阿尔芒于一八六九年在雅安发现世界上第一只大熊猫的史实改编。通过男主人公阿尔芒及女主人公林菁、藏族土司打索、羌女野樱桃、汉族赶马人王长根、川剧名角茶花、川女幺妹等向人们演绎了一出由保护大熊猫而引出的跨国、跨民族不同文化背景的人们情感交融的感人故事。这是中国第一次拍摄有关大熊猫的电视连续剧，在长达三个月的拍摄中熊猫一直配合到位，在剧中可以见到平时人们少为人知的熊猫的生活细节片段。剧中热情讴歌了中法之间人民的友谊及人与自然、人与动物之间互为依存的情缘。《国色天娇》不仅奏响了生命辉煌的自然乐章，展示了地球上一道雄浑亮丽的风景。同时，也是中法建交40周年的一份精彩献礼。
