早在2016年时就由独立制片工作室「Tryangle Films」筹划拍摄，靠着集资网站来募款筹措资金，虽然一度被拥有《哈利波特》系列版权的片商华纳兄弟以侵犯权为由要求下架，但经过制作团队多次的沟通和协商后，华纳终于确定全面放行啦！
该剧根据英国同名剧集改编，故事描述四个女人的秘密恋情及「自我发现之旅」。她们随时都要面对丑闻、绯闻、秘密、阴谋与背叛。讲述了四位女主人公在不体面的恋情中寻求刺激、找寻自我、隐藏秘密、经历背叛，最后从这种复杂的关系中解脱出来的故事。
